Pakistani Delegation Arrives in Malaysia for Sumud Nusantara Carnival, Welcomed by Regional Activists
KUALA LUMPUR — A Pakistani delegation, comprising former Senator Mushtaq Ahmad, Dr. Muhammad Osama Riaz, and Syed Zubair Nizami, has arrived in Malaysia to participate in the ongoing Sumud Nusantara Carnival. Upon their arrival, the delegates were extended a warm welcome by representatives from the Sumud Nusantara initiative and a fellow delegation from Sri Lanka.
The meeting took place as part of a larger gathering of activists and humanitarian figures from across Asia, united in their advocacy for the Palestinian cause. The visit is specifically for the three-day carnival, a public event designed to raise awareness and mobilize support for the “Global Sumud Flotilla,” a civilian-led maritime mission aimed at breaking the blockade on Gaza.
This coming together of delegations from Pakistan and Sri Lanka is a powerful display of solidarity among like-minded individuals and groups. It highlights the growing grassroots momentum in the region to support a humanitarian cause that transcends official state-level relations. The presence of the Pakistani delegation at this event underscores the widespread, non-governmental support for the Palestinian people. The delegates are expected to take part in various activities throughout the carnival, which is set to culminate with the ceremonial flag-off for the regional flotilla.
